Disappear upon waking with a start

I grit my teeth for days and days and days. You hit where it hurts: Where you’d have to choose between your morals and my heart. Would I be worth so much, and would you be so afraid of me, if I compromised my sense of objective rightness? (Then again, I’ve bent enough lines to deserve no moral high ground.)

My time, energy, and understanding are yours to draw on; so much is trusted and established. All we don’t know is whether my loyalty will weight my judgements enough to satisfy you. How do we figure this out? I’m not in a hurry. And I play for keeps.

I am the devil’s little sister: if he is justice, I am fairness. I try, anyway.
